A WEDDING AT HYCROFT MANOR: HISTORIC CHARM, MODERN LOVE, AND ONE GORGEOUS DAY
A Hycroft Manor wedding isn’t your run-of-the-mill event. It’s got that rare mix of historic charm and low-key elegance that makes you forget you’re even in the middle of Vancouver. As a wedding photographer, I’ve shot at a lot of venues, but Harp & Sayano’s wedding at Hycroft really stood out—maybe it was the way the light filtered through those century-old windows, or the endless spots that made for great shots without even trying. Every detail of the day felt effortless, from the grand staircase that was practically made for iconic photos to the dreamy garden that didn’t need much dressing up. There’s something about a Hycroft Manor wedding that perfectly balances the mansion’s “old world” vibe with a laid-back, modern atmosphere. It feels like you’ve stepped back in time, but without any of the stuffiness that can sometimes come with historic venues. The garden, with its tall, sprawling trees, even gave off the feel of an Italian villa—perfect for an outdoor ceremony or relaxed cocktail hour. And honestly, as a photographer, I couldn’t ask for a more photogenic setting. The light in every corner seemed to naturally highlight the best moments, making my job feel easy. A big part of the day’s smoothness came from the great team involved. Bruno Dias kept everything on track like clockwork, which is a feat in itself at any wedding. Aina Floral’s arrangements blended seamlessly with the natural beauty of the venue, adding color and texture without overwhelming the space. And Melo Patisserie’s cake? Let’s just say it looked incredible and tasted just as good—definitely a highlight. One of my favorite parts of the day was the long table dinner on the terrace. As the sun dipped behind the trees, everyone gathered around this beautifully set table, and the setting felt intimate, like a scene from a film. The evening flowed effortlessly into cocktails on the terrace, followed by a lively dance floor where a live band kept the energy high all night long. A Hycroft Manor wedding doesn’t need much to feel magical—its natural beauty keeps the focus exactly where it should be: on the couple, their day, and the moments that truly matter.
